I was able to slip away and view Men in Black 3 this weekend. Jemaine Clement as Boris did a good job as the villain Boris but I know Clement can be much much funnier. Josh Brolin as a young Tommy Lee Jones was also a high point of this movie. Will Smith returned to comedy and did exactly what he did on the last two movie. Over all Men In Black 3 is good, better then 2, but not as satisfying as the original. This week Hollywood tries to ruin more fairy tales and we worry about Kevin.
These Are the Movies That Will Be Released on Friday June 1st, 2012
For Greater Glory - Rated R
Andy Garcia, Eva Longoria, Peter O’Toole, Nestor Carbonell and Bruce Greenwood bring the story of the Cristero War to life. That is a rebellion that occurred in Mexico in the 1920’s when the government persecuted the Catholics. Sounds like a interesting historical drama to me. It brings to light something that we might not be aware of and the cast looks strong.
Verdict - This is a good alternative to all the summer blockbusters.
Snow White and The Huntsman - Rated PG-13
In the version of Snow White, The Queen (Charlize Theron) needs to devour Snow White (Kristen Stewart)’s heart. So Snow White escapes and The Queen sends a Huntsman (Chris Hemsworth) out to find her. Along the way Thor teaches Bella Swan the art of war . . .for some reason and we have Lord Of The Rings style battles. When I think of Snow White and The Huntsman I think of last year’s Red Ridding Hood. That movie was confusing and poorly acted. With Theorn and Hemsworth on board I hope the producers took more care with Snow White and thus we can get something that should be more entertaining.
Verdict - It is not my first choice but I have a feeling I will see this.
Battlefield America - Rated PG-13
This is story of rowdy teens in a underground dance competition circuit. NEXT!
Verdict - In count of destroy American culture I find Battlefield America GUILTY!
Box Office Top 5 Movies In The Country
1. Men in Black 3 – Rated PG-13
2. The Avengers - Rated PG-13
3. Battleship – Rated PG-13
4. The Dictator – Rated R
5. Dark Shadows - Rated PG-13
MIB 3 beat The Avengers like most thought. MIB 3 was a big hit for Will Smith that needed one and is on par with the gross of MIB 2 that came out 10 years ago. The Avengers keeps on turning becoming #4 on all time domestic and worldwide gross. These two should do some good business before sailing off into the sunset in July.

Man on A Ledge - Rated PG-13
In an effort to prove he is innocent Sam Worthington threatens to jump off a building and Elizabeth Banks tries to talk him down. This was really confusing that my head hurts just thinking about the plot.
Gone - Rated PG-13
Amanda Seyfried was kidnapped by a serial killer but no one believes her. When her sister is taken the police think she is nuts. Another psychological thriller but I have not heard very good things or anything at all about Gone
We Need To Talk About Kevin - Rated R
Tilda Swinton plays a mother who has to cope with her son being a murder. Swinton won tons of acting awards for this one. Its dark themes have be interested
Next week we can see for ourselves if the first bomb of the year is really that bad, the first animated sequel of the summer, and we return to the world of Alien.
