Happy Friday the 13th! Tonight I will be watching tons of Jason Vorhees as is my tradition. This week a return to Ice Age, Time Travel Donnie Darko style, and a high school reunion.

Ice Age: Continental Drift - Rated PG

Hasn’t the Ice Age ended yet?  This time around the Herd runs for their lives as that squirrel thing has broken up the lands into the continents we know now.  PLUS PIRATES!  Ice Age was good and the sequels just seemed to be trying to recapture the first film.  I am in now way going to call this bad because it looks to be passable.  Plus I am not a child in the films demographic.

Verdict - Plot seems stupid but what else is new.  I might check this out on TV but probably not.

Safety Not Guaranteed - Rated R

This comedy drama sees a slacker for a magazine, Aubrey Plaza (April on NBC’s Parks and Rec) answer an ad for a time traveling assistant.  Most of the movie questions if this guy Mark Duplass (FX’s The League) can actually time travel.  Plaza is hilarious on TV but this would show a different side of her.  Plus it has time travel and I love time travel stories.

Verdict - Too many things out right now but Safety Not Guaranteed is one I want to make sure I check out.

Spider-Man opened well but did not live up to the expectations set by Sam Raimi’s movies.  I hope we get more but Sony should give up give the rights back to Marvel.  Ted holds on and I wonder what this will mean for Seth McFarlane’s future.

American Pie gang is back for their 10 year reunion.  This did not make much waves but I didn’t expect it to.  I wish this is the last slice of American Pie until someone decides it’s a good idea to remake the original. (PSH it’s not a good idea to remake the original)
