The Oscars Nominations were released Tuesday morning.  Lets look at the Five big Catagories.

Actor in a Leading Role

Javier Bardem for “Biutiful”

Jeff Bridges for “True Grit”

Jesse Eisenberg for “The Social Network”

Colin Firth for “The King’s Speech”

James Franco for “127 Hours”

Who I want to win: James Franco for “127 Hours”

Who will win: Colin Firth for “The King’s Speech”

While it would be great if Jesse Eisenberg or James Franco won here, it will be Colin Firth because lets face it, this guy is winning everything.

Actor in a Supporting Role

Christian Bale for “The Fighter”

John Hawkes for “Winter’s Bone”

Jeremy Renner for “The Town”

Mark Ruffalo for “The Kids Are All Right”

Geoffrey Rush for “The King’s Speech”

Who I want to win: Christian Bale for “The Fighter”

Who will win: BATMAN

Out of all the nominees, Christian Bales performance in “The Fighter” was the most talked about.  I could see Geoffrey Rush winning here also just because he is good in everything.

Actress in a Leading Role

Annette Bening for “The Kids Are All Right”

Nicole Kidman for “Rabbit Hole”

Jennifer Lawrence for “Winter’s Bone”

Natallie Portman for “Black Swan”

Michelle Williams for “Blue Valentine”

Who I want to win: Natallie Portman for “Black Swan”

Who will win: Portman  I think.  I guess

As much as I loved Black Swan, I think it had more to do with Daren Aronofsky’s direction the Portman.  But Natallie did a great job.  I am just not confident that she will beat out Nicole Kidman or Michelle Williams.  We will find out.

Actress in a Supporting Role
Amy Adams for "The Fighter"
Helena Bonham Carter for "The King's Speech"
Melissa Leo for "The Fighter"
Hailee Steinfeld for "True Grit"
Jacki Weaver for "Animal Kingdom"

Who I want to win: Hailee Steinfeld for “True Grit”

Who will win: Crap I can decide.

Not really sure what is going to happen here so I am going for the girl from True Grit.  She helped make that film better then average

Best Picture

Black Swan
The Fighter
Inception
The Kids Are All Right
The King's Speech
127 Hours
The Social Network
Toy Story 3

True Grit

Winter's Bone

Who I want to win: Black Swan

Who will win: The King’s Speech

Black Swan barely beats out Inception as my pick for best picture but it doesn’t matter.  I have a feeling The King’s Speech is going to win a ton of golden men.  Note that Toy Story 3 is the third animated movie to be nominated for best picture.  Last time this happened was for UP.

The Rest

Best Original Score

TRENT REZNOR and Atticus Ross for The Social Network.  Is there any way we can have a Nine Inch Nails show at the Oscars?  I would watch the award show for his acceptance speech alone.

Best Director

There is a lot of buzz going that Christopher Nolan was snubbed for Inception in the category but really he has to get by Darren Aronfosky’s Black Swan and I don’t think Chris can win that fight.
