Lets get ready for another great week of movies. This week Ashton Kutcher is having sex with Natalie Portman, Ryan Reynolds acts in a box, and another Paul Walker movie makes me vomit.
These are the movies that were released on Friday, January 21th, 2011
No String Attached Rated R

Natalie Portman and Ashton Kutcher want to be sex buddies. Cary Elwes co-stars. Normally I would say NEXT! and not bat an eye. But two things intrigue me about this movie. 1. Natalie Portman is staring. This doesn’t seem like her kind of film. Why did she do it? Does she need a paycheck that badly? Probably not. 2. Director Ivan Reitman. Yes the guy who directed Ghostbusters and Twins. I have seen his later work (2001’s Evolution and 2006’s My Super Ex-Girlfriend). While not as good as the stuff from the 80’s it was enjoyable.
Verdict - This is one of those romantic comedies where if the girlfriend makes me I will go willingly.
Box Office Top 5 Movies In The Country
1. Green Hornet Rated PG-13
2. The Dilemma Rated PG-13
3. True Grit Rated PG-13
3. The King’s Speech Rated R
5. Black Swan Rated R
I figured that between the movies released last week (Green Hornet and The Dilemma) that one of them would be the #1 movie of the week but I am surprised they went 1 and 2. I will be honest. I thought either The Dilemma or Green Hornet would bomb. True Grit comes in at 3 and I think will continue to hang around for a bit longer. 4 and 5 are award winning movies gaining steam on the road to Oscars. I recommend Black Swan. It is the best movie I have seen in a long time.
Still In Theatres
Country Strong Rated PG-13, Gulliver’s Travels Rated PG, Harry Potter and the Deadly Hallows: Part 1 Rated PG-13, How Do You Know Rated PG-13, Tangled Rated PG, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader Rated PG, The Fighter Rated R, The King’s Speech Rated R, The Social Network Rated PG-13, The Tourist Rated PG-13,
Yogi Bear Rated PG
These are the movies released on DVD the week of January 18, 2010
Takers Rated PG-13

Paul Walker and Hayden Christensen are in a heist film. I think its like Danny DeVito playing in the X-Men movie. I think I just threw up in my mouth.
Buried Rated R

Ryan Reynolds is stuck in a box. This is one of the better reviewed horror movies of 2010 but I worry that we have missed out on some of the atmosphere that the theatre creates.
Justified Season One
When this series came out I thought that TImothy Olyphant would make a terrible bad ass. Boy was I wrong. This series was good for the first couple of episodes but got great towards the middle of season 1. Bring on Season 2
Next week Jason Statham returns playing the same character he has played for years, Anthony Hopkins might save a poor horror film, and old people with guns comes to DVD. Now if you excuse me I have to go find a way to get Danny DeVito out of my head.
