Last spot on the main stage is a rotating slot.  It will rotates between:

Machine Head

In Flames

Trivium

It is rumored that the two bands that are not on the main stage that night will be the headliners on the two second stages.  Machine Head states on their site that they are on the main stage first nine nights and then on the Extreme stage.  That makes sense to me, as headliners for the two main stages have not been announced officially.  Yet there is no official announcement about the rotation or which bands will be on the main stage at which day.  I wont believe anything until I am told by the promoter.

Yes these are fewer bands the usual.  The last two years had 1 second stage with 5 bands and the other with 4.  First year had 5 bands per stage.  This gives more legitimacy to the rumors mentioned above.  And we do not know the status of the yearly Battle of the Bands slot.  This slot has been given to a local band at every stop.  I hope more information will be available.

Mayhem Fest will be at the DTE Energy Music Theatre Saturday August 6th. There is not an on sale ticket date as of yet
