Judas Priest Recording New Record, Live Epitaph DVD Coming Soon

Posted by Jon Rockin Rogo on

Judas Priest are making progress on a new and untitled studio record. In the meantime, we expect a release date for their live "Epitaph" DVD to be announced shortly.

The new record will be their first release with Richie Faulkner, the guitarist who replaced co-founder K.K. Downing in 2011.

The last that fans heard about a new Priest record was in August when front man Rob Halford described what fans could expect from their new ideas. "We've already got a strong cross-section of ideas, some of them complete, some of them in bits and pieces. It's shaping up to be quite intense, in terms of the riffage and the strength of certain tracks," he said. "There are elements of 'British Steel' and there elements of 'Painkiller' in terms of the vibe."

There's no sign of a release date, but Halford says they're in no rush to complete the record. "I remember in the '80's we were banging out a record almost every year, and that was on top of putting in a world tour. We have the luxury now, if you want to call it that, of taking our time," he said.
