Velvet Revolver to Reunite for a One-Off Gig Next Week

Scott Weiland has apparently buried the hatchet with his former bandmates in Velvet Revolver and they have agreed to perform together for a one-off show honoring late composer John O’ Brien.

While it may not be the reunion news involving Slash and Duff McKagan we were hoping for, the one night only reformation of VR is surprising considering how things ended for the supergroup that formed in 2003.

Weiland will return to front Velvet Revolver for a brief performance on January 12th at the House of Blues in West Hollywood. The event titled ‘Love You Madly: A Concert For John O’ Brien’ will honor the recently deceased film/TV composer and feature several artists including Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello, Sheryl Crow, and Maroon 5′s Adam Levine.

Velvet Revolver are currently seeking Weiland’s permanent replacement and are reportedly in talks with former Ours frontman Jimmy Gnecco for the gig. Scott Weiland has been working with Stone Temple Pilots on their next record.
