Have you ever dreamed of seeing Guns N' Roses, KISS, Metallica, Motley Crue and Def Leppard on the same bill?
Well, this year you can! Sort of. As long as you're cool with only seeing individual members of the bands and you live in South America.
Dubbed the 'Titans of Rock' tour, the all-star event will feature contributions from a wide array of hard rock legends, including Gene Simmons (KISS), Sebastian Bach (Skid Row), Vince Neil (Motley Crue), Jason Newsted (Metallica), Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple), Duff McKagan (GNR), Gilby Clarke (GNR), and Matt Sorum (GNR), guitarist Steve Stevens (Billy Idol), Joe Elliot (Def Leppard) and Ed Roland (Collective Soul).
Not surprisingly, Gene Simmons owns the trademark for the actual title "Titans of Rock." The phrase was registered in October of 2011.
While key details about the tour remain unknown, the 'Titans of Rock' will perform a two-week swing of South American countries (see below)
Titans of Rock Tour dates:
- April 19 – Lima, Peru
- April 21 – Sao Luis, Brazil
- April 22 – Sao Paulo, Brazil
- April 24 – Paraguay
- April 26 – Buenos Aires, Argentina
- April 28 – Santiago, Chile
- April 30 – Guatemala City, Guatemala
- May 02 – San Jose, Costa Rica
Not unlike such classic rock-minded package tours as the Voices of Classic Rock or Rock and Pop Masters, the Titans of Rock tour seems like a great way to get plenty of bang for your buck (or peso) with hits by the artists who originally performed them.
What would you pay to see this lineup at a theater near you?
