Motley Crue are set to re-release a limited quantity of their catalogue, having regained the rights to all their songs. The following albums will be re-released as vinyl replica CDs with a 16 page booklet, a CD with a 5 page booklet and on 180g vinyl in a 4-colour gatefold sleeve: Too Fast For Love, Shout At The Devil, Theatre Of Pain, Girls Girls Girls and Dr. Feelgood. They will be available on November 14th. Also on that date, the rest of their catalogue: Motley Crue, Generation Swine, New Tattoo and Live: Entertainment Or Death will be re-released in standard CD format only. This will be followed by Motley Crue's Greatest Hits in CD, deluxe CD, 180g vinyl and DVD formats on December 5th.

During the 1980s, charity singles like Do They Know It's Christmas and We Are the World topped the charts, but not in the metal world. So Dio members Vivian Campbell and Jimmy Bain decided to do something about what they felt was a slight of their genre, and spoke to lead singer Ronnie James Dio about putting together their own charity project.

The result was the song Stars, featuring members of Dokken, Mötley Crüe, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Quiet Riot, Twisted Sister, and Blue Öyster Cult.  The group which called itself Hear N' Aid put out an album called, Stars, featuring live songs from KISS, Rush, Dio and others.

The song features killer vocal work from such metal greats as Dio, Rob Halford, Don Dokken, and Geoff Tate along with blazing guitar solo's from George Lynch, Neil Schon, Vivian Campbell, and Yngvie Malmsteen and should be a part of Eighties lore. However, due to contract differences with the labels, the song and album weren't released until New Year's Day, 1986, well after the success of its predecessors and has since been largely forgotten.

But Ronnie's widow Wendy Dio wants to fix that. She is planning to rerelease "Stars" on DVD and CD because it only ever came out on vinyl and cassette and she has loads of never before seen outtakes which are expected to be included in the DVD.
