Korn Beat the Clock in ‘Never Never’ Video

Korn have just released an official music video for ‘Never Never,’ the first single from the band’s 11th studio album, ‘The Paradigm Shift.’ The video also marks the return of guitarist Brian ‘Head’ Welch, who recently reunited with the group after a 10-year absence.

The clip for ‘Never Never’ is almost reminiscent of ‘Freak on a Leash’ due to its slow motion effects and portrayal of the band in some sort of otherworldly dimension. Bullets aren’t flying in ‘Never Never,’ but the members of Korn perform the new track while dodging the deadly arms of a giant clock.

The switches in speed of motion complement the anti-gravitational sound of ‘Never Never.’ Effects such as slow motion jumps and crash cymbal hits go hand-in-hand with a witch-like clock keeper, who battles the members of Korn in the style of a video game. To fight off their deadly foe, the band use their instruments along with Matrix-like maneuvers in the giant, ticking war zone.

When the song ‘Never Never’ debuted in August, the track was met with mixed reactions from fans; a response that Korn vocalist Jonathan Davis was expecting. “We put this ['Never Never'] out first cause I knew it was going to piss off a lot of people,” Davis tells Metal Hammer. “And um, so I did it. That song ain’t for dudes, it’s for the ladies.” Despite some negativity thrown at ‘Never Never,’ fans quickly embraced the song ‘Love & Meth’ soon after its release later on in August.
