Reflect instead of kicking yourself on your off-day

by Dan Cash

Sometimes you just get THAT busy.

That's been the case over the past 2 weeks.  It's been run from place-to-place followed by racing the clock to get to the gym before midnight.  Tonight I can assure you is not a night for the gym.  That however...is OK.

Sometimes when you are in the heat of the battle and constantly trying to go harder and run faster you forget that it's alright to take a day or 2 off each week.  It's certainly not going to make you better or help you run stronger but from a mental standpoint it calms you...let's you force your mind to think about something other than losing those extra 10lbs and more than anything it gives you a moment of reflection.

So here I sit at 10:59pm on a Monday evening kicking myself for not making it to the gym in a timely manner.  I keep asking myself will running be that much harder tomorrow?

It doesen't matter.

What's important is that you simply pick yourself up and get back on that treadmill on Tuesday.  Monday is gone and you missed your workout...oh well.  It's time to relax, reflect on the last 2 workouts and get pumped for a Tuesday that will not be ready for what you have to deliver at the gym.

Go hard or go home. Re-invent your Tuesday workout.  Let's build on the reflection and make it the best you have ever had.
