  • Slash Announces U.S. Tour including a stop in Grand Rapids

    Posted by Jon Rockin Rogo

Slash has revealed the first dates for a 2012 U.S. tour in support of his upcoming sophomore solo record. He will be backed by singer Myles Kennedy (Alterbridge) and the Conspirators.

The tour kicks off May 3 in Baltimore, Maryland and will feature an appearance at the weekend-long Rock on the Range festival in Columbus, Ohio. Slash will also perform at two other festivals: May 5 at Carolina Rebellion and May 25 at Rocklahoma.

Slash's as-yet-untitled second record is slated for a May 22 release on his own Dik Hayd International label. The effort is reportedly "much more cohesive" than his guest vocalist-heavy first solo album, partially as a result of being recorded with the same band that backed him on the tour in support of his debut.

It's worth noting that these tour plans don't start until well after the 2012 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony on April 14. So even though Slash shot down reports he had RSVP'd for the event and a potential on-stage reunion with former bandmate Axl Rose, he's still free to do so if he wants to.

Tickets for Slash's upcoming tour will be made available through a special fan pre-sale on February 15 and to the general public on February 17. More information @

  • Def Leppard and Poison to tour together again this summer

    Posted by Jon Rockin Rogo

Def Leppard's 2012 trip around the globe is turning into a quasi hair band festival. It has now been confirmed that Poison will once again join Def Leppard on the road this summer.

Previously, rumors had alluded that Twisted Sister and/or other bands included on the 'Rock of Ages' movie soundtrack would be joining them for a summer tour, which will include dates in America. However, with the exception of Poison, nothing has been finalized yet.

No dates have been announced, however Def Leppard has five dates booked in June, beginning in Belfast, Ireland on June 7 and ending in Tampa, Florida on June 17.

While Def Leppard will have a couple of new songs for their summer tour, it seems unlikely they'll be promoting a new record, instead that could come in 2013, at the earliest.

  • Retro’ KISS Action Figures...

    Posted by Jon Rockin Rogo

For those of you who missed out on the highly collectable original line of KISS action figures introduced in 1977, Figures Toy Company has announced a line of KISS action figures made in the image of those collectibles.

In addition to recreating the original 12-inch toys that were popular in the late ’70s, Figures will produce the four original KISS members (Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Ace Frehley and Peter Criss) in 8-inch versions.

The first release will have the retro look from the 1970s, but future releases will cover all time periods in KISS’s almost-40-year musical career from 1973 to 2012. The next editions in the works will feature the band in the Sonic Boom, Dressed to Kill and debut album eras.

Both editions, which feature the band’s 'Love Gun'-era looks, will be available begining in March. The 8-inch figures each come with a mini 'Love Gun' album cover. The 12-inchers come with one of four mini KISS concert T-shirts.
