KISS will perform on the Tuesday, March 20 episode of ABC-TV's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" (which will actually air the morning of Wednesday, March 21).
The band has just completed recording its new record, "Monster", scheduled for a late spring release. Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "It's A Long Way Down", "Back To The Stone Age", "Shout Mercy", "Out Of This World", "Wall Of Sound" and "Hell Or Hallelujah".
KISS are rumored to be considering a fall tour with LA Bad Boys Motley Crue.
Filter is heading back into the studio in April to start recording their new record, a follow up to 2010’s ‘The Trouble with Angels.’ They’ll be working with producer Bob Marlette whose impressive track record includes work with Black Sabbath, Saliva and Atreyu. The tentative title of the new record is ‘Gurney and the Burning Books.’
In a recent interview Richard Patrick confirmed that the band is already about seven songs into the writing process and plan to “tear your face off with music.”
Patrick also confirmed that drummer Mika Fineo and bassist Phil Buckman wouldn’t be returning to the mix this time around, explaining, “It was time for a change for us. Filter is not a band, it’s a project.” As of right now, the project includes Patrick joined by Jonny Radke.
Filter recently wrapped a short run of East Coast tour dates.
For the first time in North America, Deep Purple's 'Total Abandon: Australia '99' will be available on CD April 24th.
Recorded on April 20th, 1999 at Melbourne Park, the 12-song 76-minute blockbuster, until now, was only available domestically as a DVD in the 2008 'Around The World Live' boxed set Total Abandon is a major boon for Deep Purple fans as it musically traverses decades of material mostly from the '70s and the '90s. Lead guitarist Steve Morse, at this point in the band's glorious career, had fully integrated himself into the mix, positively shining on songs from both eras.
The line-up of vocalist Ian Gillan, bassist Roger Glover, keyboardist Jon Lord, drummer Ian Paice and guitarist Morse is in rare form. The almost nine-minute-each jam-happy versions of 'Pictures Of Home' and 'Smoke On The Water' are just two highlights of many. Besides favorites like 'Black Night', 'Smoke On The Water' and 'Highway Star' the band reached into its enormous catalog for an incredibly satisfying evening that included opener 'Ted The Mechanic' and 'Sometimes I Feel Like Screaming' both off guitarist Morse's album debut with the band, 'Purpendicular', in 1996.
Touring in support of 1998's Abandon record, the 'A Band On World Tour' had Deep Purple criss-crossing the globe like the true road warriors they remain today.
Total Abandon: Australia '99' Track Listing:
1. Ted The Mechanic 2. Strange Kind Of Woman 3. Bloodsucker 4. Pictures of Home 5. Almost Human 6. Woman From Tokyo 7. Watching The Sky 8. Fireball 9. Sometimes I Feel Like Screaming 10. Smoke On The Water 11. Black Night 12. Highway Star

"Cadillac High," a feature film based on the KISS's 1975 celebratory tour to the city of Cadillac, has received conditional approval for incentives to shoot the movie in Michigan.
And since the movie turned in its application to the Michigan Film Office before last year's Dec. 31 deadline, incentives to locate filming of "Cadillac High" won't be subject to the 2012 cap of $25 million budgeted by the state.
In 1974, the Cadillac High School Vikings, playing KISS records in the locker room before and after games, won seven straight games and wound up conference co-champs. Word spread to the glitter-rockers of KISS, who visited Cadillac the next year for the most raucous Homecoming weekend on record.
According to the Michigan Film Office's 2011 Annual Report, "Cadillac High" will film in the cities of Cadillac, Pontiac and Detroit. The movie says it will hire 205 Michigan residents and spend just over $27 million dollars to produce the film in the Mitten State; including almost $5.5 million on equipment and material rentals and purchasing, $700,000 on food and just over $534,000 on lodging.
Conditional incentive amounts offered to producer Philip Steuer total $8.2 million, though the Film Office is still waiting on some financial information from the film, says Begnoche. Steuer produced the "Chronicles of Narnia" films and "Oz the Great and Powerful, " which was shot last year at Raleigh Michigan Studios.

Those of you hoping to catch a live Whitesnake show sometime this year will have to spend your ticket money elsewhere...the band have announced they're taking a break from touring in 2012.
Whitesnake plans to spend the year in the studio, mixing live recordings made during last year's 'Forevermore World Tour' and working on a concert DVD. While new material is in the works, there are no definite plans to record a full studio record at this time.
'Forevermore' was Whitesnake's 11th studio record. When it was released in March of 2011, it charted at number 49 — making it the band's most successful effort since their 1980's heyday when they were all over rock radio with hits like 'Slow An' Easy,' 'Here I Go Again,' 'Still of the Night' and 'Is This Love.'
It was only last year that former KISS guitarist Ace Frehley published his memoir 'No Regrets,' but he apparently still has a few things to get off his chest, because he's working on another book and he's back in the studio cutting tracks for his next record.
Frehley indicates that his next book will most likely be "an extension" of 'No Regrets'. "There's so much I left out because of the deadline, but after talking with so many different people I've got so many stories that have eluded me over the years. And there just wasn't enough room to put them into 'No Regrets', and I was past the deadline as it was. But I think I'm going to come out with something in the effect of like a 'No Regrets II.'"
But Frehley's literary ambitions don't stop there. He also has the idea to put out a guitar book with all of his guitar effects, tricks, recording techniques.
It's been a busy few years for Frehley, who saw 'No Regrets' rise to the Top 10 of the New York Times nonfiction bestseller list two years after his most recent solo LP, 'Anomaly,' broke the top 30 of Billboard's album chart in 2009. (A limited edition vinyl pressing is scheduled for release this year.) No word yet on what Frehley has planned for his next release, but it's safe to assume we can expect to hear plenty of guitar.

Looking forward to hear Slash's forthcoming record, 'Apocalyptic Love'? You're going to have to wait until Mid-May for the whole experience, but the former Gun's axe man has been cool enough to leak a clip from the record to hold us over.
The song preview, taken from the album track 'You're a Lie,' showcases Alter Bridge vocalist Myles Kennedy, who co-wrote the record with Slash. For the new sessions, Slash reunited with producer Eric Valentine, who also helped man the boards for 2010′s 'Slash' record.
'Slash' was an unqualified success, debuting at No. 3 on the Billboard Top 200 albums chart and featuring Slash working alongside an eclectic crew of special guests that included Ozzy, Lemmy, Iggy Pop, Kid Rock, Adam Levine, and Fergie from the Black Eyed Peas. This time out, Slash opted for a more cohesive approach, recording with a basic combo that included Kennedy on vocals, Todd Kerns on bass, and Brent Fitz on drums.
Seems as though everybody's got a story to tell, and a story to sell. We can now add Aerosmith's Joe Perry to the ever growing list of scribes. Just as Bruce Springsteen was revealing he has shelved plans to pen his own memoir, Perry announced that he has a book is in the works, but offered up little in the way of details (i.e.,publisher, tentative release date, etc).
Perry adds his name to an ever growing list of rocker autobiographies, including two fellow band mates Steven Tyler's 'Does The Noise In My Head Bother You?' was issued last year, while drummer Joey Kramer had his own tale 'Hit Hard: A Story Of Hitting Rock Bottom At The Top' published in 2009.
Not to be left out of the bookshelf brigade, word has it that bassist Tom Hamilton is also working on a book. His, however, is rumored to be a fictitious telling of his life story. That leaves guitarist Brad Whitford as the only band member not to head down that road (yet).
In the meantime, Aerosmith continue to work on their long awaited, and highly anticipated, new record with producer Jack Douglas. The as-yet-untitled record is still on track for release sometime this year and the band recently announced it's all systems go for a summer tour beginning in June.
